Latrobe Valley Village is a not for profit (NFP) community organisation founded twenty five years ago to provide needed accommodation options for older members of the community. With strong community support the organisation has continued to grow and diversify over the years. It now provides a continuum of services including retirement living (village) and residential aged care for those requiring increased care and support. We understand that the need for an older person or a family member to enter into residential aged care is a difficult decision for most people. It may be the result of a significant health set back that requires a person to enter residential aged care.This need quite often triggers uncomfortable feelings for all concerned including anxiety uncertainty and even guilt from family members.The stresses placed on the family group is magnified by the rather complex and involved eligibility criteria and process required to enter into aged care.
