The fortnightly program concentrates on improving posture breathing and stretching. Yoga is the extra spark injected to the already busy lifestyles of our low care residents. Most have grown up in Sandringham the Melbourne bayside suburb they affectionately know as 'Sandy'. So visiting local shops means more than simply shopping. It's a chance to chat with proprietors they may have known all their lives. They've also grown up on the coast so they appreciate our pristine neighbourhood beach. Not surprisingly the beach is a huge hit with all our residents. They love the liberating escape it provides especially those magnificent views across Port Phillip Bay's glittering waters. Seaside offers every resident real independence. Those who are less-active get out in company with our lifestyle assistant borrowing books at the library visiting the post office the newsagency and supermarket. In short whatever they fancy doing. Excursions are part of the fabric of life here too. From our monthly lunches at atmospheric pubs like the Half Moon Bay Hotel to day trips to the city Williamstown and Ballarat. Back home everyone joins in recreational programs appropriate to their needs and personality - perhaps relax with a hand massage listen to music have the newspaper read to them or go for quiet strolls in our lovely gardens.
