Aged Care Find welcomes Mount Carmel House in Port Macquarie, NSW 2444 residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms by bringing items from their previous home.

Mount Carmel House opened in 1995 and is a single story, low care facility catering for 21 permanent low care residents. It is situated in tranquil St Agnes Village, one of CCA's two residential villages, surrounded by beautiful gardens. It offers a very relaxing and serene living environment, both indoors and outdoors.

Mount Carmel, being a small and intimate facility with 21 beds, aims to provide care based on love, patience and courtesy with a person-centred approach to our respected elders.

We offer an environment that is home-like, simple, safe and secure, that will be supportive and provide opportunities for enriching resident interaction. Our aim is to provide an atmosphere that will increase feelings of love, security and comfort as well as recognise the rights of residents and their relatives and give them the fullest support at all times.

Our staff have the skills which they are willing to share with other community groups, thus spreading an awareness and understanding of the frail aged people and their carers.

The House is light and airy, using a warm pastel colour base with large bedrooms and bathrooms and all of the bedrooms have external access to outdoor gardens or an internal courtyard. This provides a quiet and relaxed environment to share with family and friends. The internal courtyard is a great area for socialising with it being protected from the sun by sails and having a BBQ area which is regularly used. The external courtyard, also with sail, has a water feature attracting many birds and is used for coffee mornings and family and friends gatherings.

Games room with pool table and piano as well as tea and coffee making facilities' and a regular card group

Extensive seven day activities program to include bingo, trivia, sing-a-longs, cooking, art and knitting groups

Art therapist visits - the classes being very popular

Monthly high teas which is appreciated as a great is a great time to chat and reminisce. Residents enjoying baking own cakes and biscuits for this events

Movie afternoons

Regular bus outings using CCA's own bus and a weekly walking program which occurs around local beauty spots as well as regular outings for morning tea and lunch

Access to a free local bus service for residents to enjoy the wide range of amenities on offer around Port Macquarie

Hairdresser, Beautician and regular visits from other allied health professionals

Visited by local RSL volunteers as well as Inner Wheel, part of the Rotary Club who provide gifts, provide mornings tea and spend time chatting with residents one on one where great friendships have been made

Access to Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Speech Therapist is arranged as required

Interactive school program with St Joseph's Primary School

Contact is able to be maintained with those family and friends who are located in other CCA facilities with regular bus trips provided

Pastoral care service available on a daily basis and where needed
