Situated on five acres of rural land, in the Upper Hunter Valley town of Singleton, Elizabeth Gates Nursing Home and Alroy House Hostel overlook the pastoral landscape and vineyards, whilst still being only 5 minutes from town. The facilities are home to 83 residents in total, with 35 of these residents at Elizabeth Gates, and the remaining 48 at Alroy House. Elizabeth Gates is a high care facility, whilst Alroy House is a low care facility offering a memory support unit for dementia-specific care, along with respite services and provides a spacious and inviting air conditioned home for residents in a peaceful environment. These two Singleton facilities pride themselves on the implementation of the Eden Philosophy with Person Centred Care, supporting residents in a loving environment with pets and animals, heavy community involvement, and supportive, understanding staff. Residents are able to sit and enjoy the Black Face Suffolk Sheep, Alpacas and Miniature Ponies, as they graze in the grounds of the facility. The accommodation is spacious, with each resident having their own single bedroom, and double bedrooms are also available at Elizabeth Gates. Each bedroom has an ensuite with handrails, an emergency call system, air conditioning, picture rails and built-in wardrobe, all within a secure building.
