The award winning Peninsula Village Group is community owned. The fundamental outlook is to provide friendly, affordable, ongoing and quality care.

There are two villages at Umina Beach; ‘Peninsula' in Pozieres Avenue which provides tri level care for varying individual needs and ‘Cooinda' in Neptune Street which has independent lifestyle apartments. A third facility is located in ‘Ambleside' at Morisset Park which consists of 13 waterfront lifestyle apartments.

Peninsula Village offers a choice of one and two bedroom accommodation to suit singles or couples. We provide the highest quality of care in assisted care, low care and high care as well as providing dementia specific services. Fully accredited and winner of both the 2011 and 2012 Positive Living in Aged Care Awards, Peninsula Village is truly something special.

Peninsula can provide you with as little or as much care service as you require. Catering for varying individual needs through every stage of life, Peninsula offers ‘Ageing in Place' under our Model of Care Program. This means you can move through various care stages in your lifetime without relocating to a new service provider. Transition to an aged care facility can be quite daunting to both the resident and family members.

At Peninsula Village, we aim to take the loneliness out of aged care by providing a homelike environment and removing institutionalisation. During April 2012, The Peninsula Village Model of Care Program rolled out their first "Play Up Forum" to a small number of dementia specific residents. This program was paid for by the Village and was encouraged by the Board and CEO who are passionate at providing person-centred care. It has been a wonderful success giving hope to families and staff that ‘life is not so bad after all when living with dementia'. The Model of Care at Peninsula Village continues to expand and strives to keep residents laughing and interactive and continue to provide the highest of quality care.

Our Village has two Wellness Centres providing alternate therapies and a strong events program which gives the Village a sense of community spirit. Alliances with local schools are in place to bridge the generation gap and there is a pastoral carer available to provide assistance to residents and family members. Men are not forgotten, and often attend the Umina Beach Mens' Shed which is built on land donated by Peninsula Village. The Village also provides a Dietitian approved meal service catering for all dietary needs. Set amongst landscaped gardens is a teahouse along with an indoor heated swimming pool, bowling green and hairdressing salons.

As part of the clinical governance group, we have created and updated processes and procedures so they are aligned with contemporary practice and fit into our Model of Care. It is a wonderful place to work, full of committed, energetic and creative staff.
