Bambra House is a 30 bed boutique nursing home that does not require bonds. It is a Commonwealth Government funded aged care service catering for dementia and non-dementia residents.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is to provide a safe, secure and comfortable homelike environment where residents are provided the highest quality care and service to maintain their quality of life.

Our staff is dedicated and provides an excellent standard of individual care to our residents based on best practice.

We have Registered Nurses on duty 24 hours a day and all our nursing staff have aged care certificates and training.

No matter how challenging the health needs of residents, they are afforded the highest possible care by compassionate staff and their specific preferences catered for.

Our residents are treated with dignity, having their privacy of person and belongings respected and their individual needs considered at all times while maintaining their confidentiality.

The Home is a beautiful Edwardian building close to transport, shopping and Caulfield Park. It is set amongst delightful gardens with a large undercover patio area. Families are welcome to hold BBQ's in the rear garden. Due to our secure facility, residents with dementia can move freely in the building and gardens.

Our dedicated staff provide an excellent standard of individual care in the specialised field of aged care. We focus on preventative, therapeutic and rehabilitative care to maximize each resident's potential for independence, health, wellbeing and contentment.

Tasty and nutritionally balanced meals are cooked on the premises. Kosher meals are available on request. Residents' specific preferences including special dietary, cultural and religious requirements are catered for. Staff speak many languages including various European and Asian ones.

Our activities program is designed to meet individual requirements and is aimed at stimulating awareness and interest and incorporates daily exercise classes. Day trips to various locations are organized on a regular basis. Walks to the park and surrounds occur often.

Other Services

Heating and cooling for comfort, quality furniture and equipment, onsite laundry including personal laundry service, choice of meals, choice of doctor and choice of activities.

Various other services are provided for residents including podiatry, physiotherapy, dietitian and speech pathology. For an additional fee, extra services can be provided such as hairdressing, beautician and complementary therapy.

The doctor of your choice will visit on a regular basis and whenever needed. A local pharmacist delivers daily to the Home or an alternative pharmacy service can be arranged if required.

Visitors and pets are most welcome at anytime. Volunteer visitors from the Community Visitors Scheme can be arranged for residents who may not otherwise receive many visitors.

An ecumenical church service is conducted monthly and communion bi-monthly at the Home for those who wish to participate. Visits by other religious personnel can be arranged as needed.

In 2012 we again achieved Accreditation for three years.
